I have long had a love affair with cast iron.  From way back in the day when my mom cooked hamburgers in the cast iron skillet on Saturday nights (served with tater tots and cottage cheese – one of my favorite meals as a kid!) to today when I’m using my own skillets at least once a week, I can’t stress enough how versatile these pans are.  From stove top to oven – fry, sauté, braise, dry roast, bake, broil – these pans take a beating and still come out looking like champs.  Without a doubt, my cast iron skillets are some of my most beloved items in the kitchen.
