This week’s update is a great one!  Things are happening in there as I never expected they would…gorgeous San Marzano tomatoes that have been plucked and immediately consumed, more cherry tomatoes than I think we’ll know what to do with by week’s end, and a surprise appearance that I never thought would happen.  Have a quick look and tell me about what you’re picking this week…

(From top down, left to right: San Marzano tomatoes, broccoli (!!), heirloom tomatoes, Sweet Cherry 100 tomatoes, butternut squash about 5″ long)

I can hardly wait to see what recipes you use with these tomatoes. I’m not a big fan of tomatoes in the store, but home grown ones are a different story. 🙂

I love your pictures. I didn’t realize you could grow those tomatoes here, I thought they only grew in Italy! COOL! I will try them next year. I am grewing a variety called 4th of July and just started picking them. They are small, but so yummy. Thanks for sharing!

Those tomatoes make the most wonderful sauce! We’re in kind of a lull in output since I trimmed all the vining tomatoes back for the “fall” garden. Except for the peppers. If I keep sending people home with them, they’ll never come over again 🙂

We have so many tomatoes. It is sad because you have so many and then they are gone. I wish they could last year round.

Patty: I totally agree! I hate that the tomato growing season (at least here in the NE) is so short!
