Nope! This creamer actually tastes like pumpkin pie! And if you like pumpkin pie, I just know that you’re going to love this pumpkin spice creamer too.
Let’s back up a step before I launch into my love for this creamer first though.
I’m not going to lie: I love pumpkin flavored desserts and baked things like scones and muffins. I’ve made lots and lots of them over the years. There’s over 20 pumpkin recipes on this site and there’s probably another 20 that I’ve made and never shared here.
But I’m not a huge fan of pumpkin spice flavored coffee. Shocked? Me too!
All the signs point in the direction that I should love this fall staple but I have trouble getting past the fact that it never really tastes like pumpkin. It’s like the amount of spices cloud the pumpkin pie flavor I’m expecting and I just don’t love it.
This is also one of the reasons why I’ve never tried the flavored pumpkin creamer you can find in the grocery store. That, and I’m really wary of the ingredients in those creamers as well as the fact that I drink my coffee black these days.
Because I’ve been known to make loads of things at home that one could easily buy pre-made from the grocery store. Like this vanilla syrup for my iced vanilla lattes. And Chex mix. And peanut butter magic shell for ice cream.
Anyway, this pumpkin spice creamer is insanely delicious! It flavors coffee perfectly – both hot and cold coffee! – and you don’t need a ton of it for the flavor to peek through. Just a couple tablespoons will do.
Pumpkin Spice Creamer Ingredients
Now, the ingredients in this creamer are pretty straightforward. I wouldn’t consider them healthy, but I know exactly what they are and there are no preservatives to be found.
I made this creamer with sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream (though half-and-half would work too), my homemade pumpkin pie spice mix, maple syrup, vanilla extract, a tiny pinch of salt, cinnamon sticks, and pumpkin puree. YES! That’s right!
There’s actual pumpkin in this pumpkin spice creamer!!
How to Make Pumpkin Spice Creamer
It’s incredibly simple to make this easy creamer recipe and it will take around 40 minutes to do so. Most of this is hands-off time though. Your only effort will be to whisk the ingredients in a saucepan and then drop in a few cinnamon sticks at the end.
After you whisk everything together, bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes. Then you’ll take the pan off the heat, drop in those cinnamon sticks, and let them steep to release their flavor for about 30 minutes.
That’s it. You can use the creamer right away in hot coffee or chill it to use later.
What I Love About this Creamer
What I love most about this creamer is that it tastes just like pumpkin pie. And by that I mean, it tastes EXACTLY like pumpkin pie! It’s thick and rich, and it also reminds me quite a bit of the eggless mousse from these pumpkin mousse parfaits.
Like me, I suspect you’ll have trouble not licking the spoon!
I also love the fact that I know every single ingredient that this pumpkin spice creamer is made with. There are no artificial ingredients, colors, or preservatives in this creamer recipe. And that makes me feel good about using it in my coffee and sharing the recipe with you.

- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie puree)
- 1 tsp store-bought or homemade pumpkin pie spice mix
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- Pinch of Kosher salt
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- In a small saucepan, whisk the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, pumpkin, pumpkin spice mix, maple syrup, vanilla, and salt together until completely combined.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 10 minutes. Take the pan off the heat, drop the cinnamon sticks in and let them steep for 30 minutes. Remove the cinnamon sticks and pour the creamer through a mesh sieve into a glass jar.
Storage: This creamer will keep for up to 1 month in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
