Breakfast Casserole Recipe

A Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Breakfast Casserole is a fantastic make-ahead meal for holidays and busy weekends.

LET'S MAKE IT!

- Breakfast sausage  - Bread - Eggs - Milk - Sharp cheddar - Red peppers - Green onions - Salt & pepper

STEP 1.

Brown the breakfast sausage in a hot pan. Cut bread into cubes

STEP 2.

Whisk the eggs and milk together in a bowl.

STEP 3.

Layer sausage, bread, cheese, and peppers in a large casserole dish.

STEP 4.

Pour the egg mixture over the sausage mixture.  Cover and refrigerate for up to 12 hours.

STEP 5.

Bake at 325 degrees F for 1 hour.

TIPS & TRICKS

Day-old bread makes the best breakfast casseroles! You can also toast the bread cubes in the oven to dry them out.
