Challah  French Toast

Take your challah French toast to the next level by stuffing it with fresh strawberries and cream cheese filling!

- Challah bread - Fresh strawberries - Cream cheese - Sugar - Milk - Eggs - Butter - Flour - Cinnamon - Vanilla extract

How to Make It!

Step 1: Make Filling. Slice strawberries and combine with sugar for 15 minutes. Mix in softened cream cheese to create the filling.

Step 2: Prepare Challah. Mix egg mixture ingredients together.  Hollow out slices of challah bread.  Fill bread with strawberry filling.

How to Make It!

Step 3: Fry! Dip the stuffed challah bread in the egg mixture. Heat butter in a nonstick pan.  Fry stuffed bread in the pan for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.

How to Make It!

Step 4: Serve it Up! Serve the stuffed challah French toast with: 1. A dusting of  powdered sugar,  2. Fresh whipped  cream, and 3. Extra sliced strawberries!

TIPS & TRICKS

Don't cut completely through the bread slices when you make the holes. The filling will leak out the back when you fry the bread.

If your strawberries aren't fully ripe, add 1 or 2 extra teaspoons of sugar to the bowl.  Allow them to macerate (release juices and become soft) for 5 extra min.
